Protecting Your Investments

Carport adding protection for a car, truck, and tractor

Most people would agree that a car, boat, farm equipment, camper, and other similar items are one of their biggest investments aside from buying a house. For those larger purchases, doesn’t it also make sense to invest in protective shelter for those assets? Carports provide durable, affordable protection for your big ticket purchases.

Storms

Major storms can have a devastating impact on your property, especially if your most valuable possessions are damaged. Although the cost to replace a car, truck, boat, farm equipment or recreational vehicle may be covered by your insurance, it is difficult to put a price tag on the burden of replacing those items. You may struggle with arranging transportation to and from work while waiting for your insurance claim to be settled. Additionally, any modifications or upgrades you made to your items may not be accurately valued in the settlement you receive.

Hazards

While storms may result in more catastrophic and expensive damage, there’s still a chance for damage when skies are clear. Long-term sun exposure, falling tree sap, flying rocks from a lawn mower, stray baseballs from a young neighbor – all are potential hazards which can damage or otherwise compromise the value of your investments. Modern carports can be fully enclosed and equipped with an additional storage space, providing as much protection and functionality as a traditional full garage. Unlike garages, carports are often far more cost effective.

Thefts

Carports provide protection from more than just natural hazards. Items kept in a carport are less susceptible to theft and vandalism. Vehicles left in the open may seem like an easier target for burglars than those sheltered in a carport, even if the carport is not fully enclosed.

Final Thoughts

Investing in protection for your large purchases will give you peace of mind and will help ensure that these possessions hold their value. Rent to Own options allow you to use the carport while you make monthly rental payments until you complete your rental agreement, at which point you will gain full ownership. You can also opt for additional protection on the Rent to Own unit through a Liability Damage Waiver (LDW), which will cover the remaining amount owed on the rental agreement or cover the cost of repair on the unit while it is being rented in the cases of natural disasters.
