Synopsis: It won’t be a night of Shakespeare, but it will be an
evening of hilarious laughter in this performance of Neil Simon’s
"Plaza Suite". Simon is famous for his New York lifestyle
humor, using the everyday encounters of New Yorkers to craft uniquely humorous plays, much like the successful television series
Seinfeld. In this play, Simon writes about the famous Plaza Suite Hotel. In the same room, three different situations, each hilarious in its own right.
The Old Colony Players approaches this production a little differently. Three acts, three directors, and eight cast members have worked hard to ensure that you will enjoy watching the play as much as we’ve enjoyed producing it.
In Act One a young couple checks into the Suite, hoping to renew the magic in a marriage that is growing somewhat stale.
The second act features a somewhat sleazy movie producer who is meeting a naïve old classmate with the pretense of renewing old times.
The final act features a married couple hosting their daughter’s wedding. One problem--the daughter has locked herself in the hotel bathroom!
