200 Years Old In 2000!

    Salem United Methodist Church celebrates 200 years in 2000.  Though we are not quite sure of the exact month and day, we believe the church to be founded in May of 1800.  Our uncertainty to exact time does not in any way diminish our joy over this event.  We rejoice and give thanks to Almighty God for His amazing grace which He has so abundantly bestowed upon His church at Salem during these past 200 years.
    An untold number of lives have been changed. Families have begun as marriages have taken place. Baptisms and celebrations of the Lord's Supper have been regularly observed.  The lonely have found friendship and acceptance.  Thousands have given their time and talent in service to Christ through this church.  Hearts have been broken as we have gathered numerous times to say goodnight to a dear friend or loved one.
    We could continue on and on reminiscing about all that God has done in and through this fellowship during the past 200 years.  But what really excites us is what He is GOING TO DO in the future!  We are persuaded that by God's grace and favor. this church will make a difference in this community and world until our Lord Jesus Christ calls us home.  Our sincere desire is that He will say to Salem Church on that day, "Well done, good and faithful servant".
