AFES: Armed Forces Emergency Services, program service of The American Red Cross, Burke County Chapter, is the world wide communications network - between families and their military service personnel. Our skilled volunteer service workers cover the globe to deliver emergency messages to military service personnel when there is trouble at home or the need for critical communications exists. Sometimes it is a notification of illness or death of a family member. Other times it may be a birth notice or a health & welfare inquiry. No military base installation or ships at sea are beyond our reach when communications really count - 24 hours a day - every day of the year. We're here to help when you need us.

If you would like to know more about this program service or how you too can become an American Red Cross AFES Volunteer, please call us at 828-438-8844.
