The Disaster Services Program Service of The American Red Cross, Burke County Chapter, provides assistance to disaster victims - beginning with the single family house fire all the way through International Disaster Assistance. Regardless of the emergency or the disaster - we know that "Help Can't Wait" and we are ready to serve our community in times of need. Further, we coordinate with other agencies in disaster assistance.

Currently, we have multiple teams of skilled, highly trained volunteers serving in Disaster Services here in Burke County. Many of these volunteers are your friends and neighbors who stand ready at a moment's notice because "Help Can't Wait". Likewise, many of these volunteers are also ready to serve on regional, state and national disasters should any of our neighbors need help.

We also offer a Community Education Service, to help individuals, families, people with disabilities, and senior citizens prepare and cope with emergencies and disasters. We welcome your inquiry about these informative programs for your civic club, organization, schools, churches, or other groups/individuals who are interested in disaster preparedness. We also have an excellent library of free materials for information and education purposes.

Please contact the Burke County Chapter Office to inquire about how you can become an American Red Cross, Disaster Services Donor/Supporter, Volunteer, or to learn more about our free community education programs. Phone: 828-438-8844
